Listening

Listening is by far the hardest part of communication. This could be cause there is many parts of listening. hearing, attending, understanding, responding and remembering.

I like to think that i am good at listening but after reading this chapter i know that i am not as good at listening as i think. I hear almost everything that is said to me but what i lack is attending. In class my attention spand is short because if i get bored or dont understand what the teacher is talking about then i will be very likely to have my attention get lost.     Like in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxoWHeoYU3g  The dog loses focus because he sees a squirrel.

Understanding what im listening to is a whole nother ball game, it depends on what it is whether im able to undersand it or not. I think i am good at responding when helping people with problems because when someone is telling me their problem i normally really listen and have an idea of how to respond. When it comes to remembering i normally cant remember sets of instructions because it causes pressure to remember things like that. Other information i can recall though, like events and funny things that happen.
